Summary: Missing: Okay! Here is my first attempt at making a "serious" short film. 9 months in the making, it is the final product of a very determined person i/e me. I wrote the script in November of 2004, with the intention of shooting it in December or January. The months passed and I started losing interest in the project, with my upcoming moving plans and whatnot.
When I got my own camera (the mini DV), I was suddenly re-inspired to shoot. I took it upon myself to set the goal of shooting, editing and uploading this film before I left Las Vegas. Now, here I am with less than a week to go before my move, and I fianlly reached that goal!
The film stars the usual suspects: My dad, my sister and me. In the interest of saving time, I figured I should just shoot with people I know, although they aren't trained actors. Maybe this was better though, as I had to explain ideas and shots that they, as non-actors, couldn't fully comprehend. They were great though and I really appreciate all they work both of them did for me. They actually took the time out of their day to help me out and for that I'm highly thankful.
The final cut of Missing is 11 minutes long and is available for both telephone connections and cable connections. Of course, the 22.3 mb version will be of higher quality. I also have the BEST version at home, which can be viewed in any DVD player that accepts MPEG format. At 180 mb in size, I didn't have the space to upload it to this site. If you want a copy of the MPEG version, of this or any other short film, just e-mail or snail mail me a request. Just keep in mind I'll be out of touch for a while after this week.
