SYNOPSIS
Over the years the Jackson brothers have come to realise the only thing they share is their mutual hate for each other. Youngest Nick, a wannabe gangster who's slowly making his ranks up the criminal underworld. Luke the eldest, a dodgy mechanic who takes orders from Nick but wants to get out the crime world. Paul, a career mad cop who wants nothing more to climb the ranks of the police force, even if it means shopping his own brothers.
All three are led to an abandoned warehouse where all the years of tension and hate is about to end with a bang.

‘Bound By Blood’ was shot on broadcast quality mini-DV camera. Sound was recorded with pro sound equipment using a boom pole and mic. Tracking shots were done using a wheelchair. It was edited on Avid Express Pro.

This film exceeded all of our expectations. It was made as an afterthought to a series of shorts we made and had a very quick turn around. Literally it was under 2 months from initial idea to completed short. It was screened as a the main event to the shorts and is a brilliant example of our skills as a collective filmmaking team.

There are many things that we’d want to change to the film but there’s only so much you can do with no money. We could of played around in the suite for weeks and weeks but you have to see the point where you can stop. You need to have a deadline.

If I had to give advice to filmmakers I’d tell them to go and shoot your film. Don’t make excuses for it to be delayed. If you have an idea and a burning passion for your vision to be sealed on the screen then go and do it. It’s the only real way you’re going to succeed. Never underestimate what you can get for free.

A good film has to be entertaining and enthralling. It has to surprise the audience and it needs to sustain the illusion of the world the viewer is invited to. A great film on the other hand makes you think. We have made a good entertaining film.
