Did the film reaches your personal expectations and Why? I felt this project turned out better than I expected, because I had a very good team behind me, who all chip in and made this project work. Also, I thought the acting was well performed and gave the film good impact. The sound design was spot on and really help the atmosphere of the film.
What improvements would you make if you had to make the same film again? I would probably spend a bit more time getting the lighting right in certain scenes. Probably shown more of the flash backs to make it clear what happened to them in the past. Finally, I would have shot the scenes slightly differently, allowing the characters more time to develop.
What advice would you give to any film makers? Keep it simple, clear and concise. The script must tell a good story and you must be able to direct it exactly how it's in your script. Only create a film around what you actually have available, your friend's flat, your garden, the park, the woods, your bedroom etc.
Make sure your actors have a clear vision of your story. Work with positive minded people who you can trust and work well with. Stay clear of negative people on a production, otherwise it can halt your production. Write a Schedule and get a producer to make sure you stick to it. Log all shots and scenes in a logbook to help editing (trust me this really saves time in post production)
What do you feel makes a good film? A well thought out script that's tells a good story. Good acting and actors that can bring something special to the role they playing. Good composition, dialogue that is well recorded and effective foley that is well timed with the edit. Effective music can help the story and give it more impact. Make sure you get a good composer onboard who understands what mood you are trying to create.
What Video Editing software did you use? Adobe Premiere 6.5/DV Film editor to get the film look.
